Under the Baobabs of Kitangani
Under the ancient baobabs...
Kitangani is an exclusive, private, camp sheltering under an enormous pod of baobabs on Kiwayu Island. The camp overlooks Mkokoni, a small fishing village on the mainland, fringed with mangrove forests, lagoons and beaches. It is part of the Lamu Archipelago.
The camp consists of three bandas, each with shower bathrooms and large decking space. The three bandas accommodate 6-10 people for maximum comfort. In addition there is a beach bar and two beach bandas for dining and relaxation during your stay.
Kitangani Camp is designed to be a versatile bush style home. The idea is for the guests to have the whole camp to yourselves. The price includes an entire staff of an assistant manager, a cook, a waiter, a barman, room stewards, watchmen, a boatman and KWS rangers at night.
Guests at Kitangani can be on a full board basis catered for by ourselves or residents can provide their own provisions in which case the food is your expense but if you would prefer, we can organise the purchases through our camp manager in Lamu before you arrive.
